With strong academic background, our faculty makes a professional team of postgraduate students supervisors from both home and abroad, including overseas returnees and part-time mentors joining from renowned enterprises and institutions with abundant experience. At present, there are three first-level disciplines at the graduate level: Fine Arts, Design, Music and Dance. We have established a number of strategic alliances and practice bases for school-enterprise cooperative production, and integration of teaching and research, as well as two graduate joint training sites at the municipal level. In recent years, artworks from our faculty and students have won gold, silver and bronze awards many times in major exhibitions at home and abroad.
Master’s Degree Programs (by research)
We offer research-oriented programs in Fine Arts, Design, Music and Dance. “Design” and “Fine Arts” are municipal-level key disciplines in Chongqing. There are four research directions for Fines Arts: Research in Art Theory and History, Research in Chinese Painting, Research in Oil Painting and Research in Chinese Calligraphy. There are five research directions for Design: Research in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Design, Research in Industrial Design and Information Interaction Design, Research in Digital Media Art and Animation, Research in Design Theory and History, and Research in Visual Communication and Graphic Image Design. There are three directions for music and dance: Traditional Chinese Musicology、Western Music Historiographyand Dance. Graduate training by research focuses more on the theoretical foundation and professional knowledge of students who are expected to have an in-depth understanding of the research methods, techniques, and capable of carrying out academic research and professional practice to solve problems creatively.
Professional Degree Programs
We offer professional degree programs in Fine Arts, Art Design, and Music. There are two research directions for Fine Arts: Chinese Painting and Oil Painting. There are three research directions for Art Design: Environmental Art Design, Visual Communication Design and Industrial Design. There are two research directions for Music: Bel Canto, and Chinese Folk Style. Graduate training for professional degrees programs focuses more on professional and practical ability in order to cultivate high-level, applied professional art talents with systematic professional knowledge and the ability to independently carry out high-level artistic creation.
