The Language of Drawing - “Commercial Illustration Design” course completion exhibition held at Huxi Campus Library

On April 7, 2021, the “Commercial Illustration Design” course completion exhibition was held in the exhibition hall on the first floor of Huxi Campus Library. It was the collection of works from the students majoring in Visual Communication Design of Grade 2018 from the Department of Design. The exhibition explores how to bridge the generational divide caused by the historical evolution of traditional illustration and the iterations of digital technology.

The students used their imagination and creativity to complete distinctive works on the canvas, showcasing diversified art styles and the spirit of letting the art have free expression. The two course instructors also did their best to provide guidance to familiarize the students with the process of setting up the exhibition.

As soon as the exhibition began, visitors came and gathered in the exhibition hall to enjoy the fun experience of illustrations. During the four-week class, students majoring in Visual Communication majors experimented with traditional painting and digital techniques with spectecular results. When art and digital technology meet, the cold technology becomes alive and the boundaries of art are extended.
