Jacek Luminski, Director of The Ludwik Solski State Drama School, Poland visited the School of Arts

From October 30 to November 3, 2017, at the invitation of the Department of Dance Performance of the School of Arts, Jacek Luminski, Director of the Ludwik Solski State Drama School, Poland, visited the Department for activities related to international dance exchanges. Jacek Luminski is a well-known Polish choreographer, dance anthropology researcher, and educator. In recent years he has committed to the international exchange of Polish dance culture and education. During the five-day exchange visit, Jacek organized practice courses on Polish modern dance with teachers and students of the Department of Dance Performance, joined discussions with the faculty, and gave lectures on the development of dance. It was a great opportunity for teachers and students to carry out exchanges in different cultural contexts. Leaders of the School conveyed to the Polish experts gratitude for their visit and lively classes where they shared knowledge and experience with students majoring in dance performance. The School of Arts was looking forward to carrying out inter-college and inter-institutional exchanges and cooperation in the future in response to the national “Belt and Road Initiative” in order to promote international collaboration of academic disciplines of the School of Arts. The two sides agreed on the arrangements of summer camp activities in 2017 and had in-depth discussions on future work exchanges. It was the hope of both sides to promote international exchange programs for students to promote world vision, and carry out cultural exchange activities in Central and Eastern Europe.
