On the afternoon of November 11, 2024, the opening seminar for the major project "Research on Art Perspectives in Cultural Thoughts of Xi Jinping" of the National Social Science Fund for Art Sciences in 2024, led by Professor Zhang Nanmu, Dean of the School of Arts at Chongqing University, was held at the Huxi Campus of Chongqing University. It is reported that this project is the first major national social science art project undertaken by Chongqing University, and the seminar marks the official launch of this significant endeavor. The meeting was guided by the Department of Science and Education of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Office of the National Leading Group for Art Science Planning. It was hosted by Chongqing University and the research team of "Research on Art Perspectives in Cultural Thoughts of Xi Jinping." Over thirty leaders and experts from various units attended the meeting, including the Department of Science and Education of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Policy Research Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government, the Chongqing Federation of Social Science Circles, the Chongqing Municipal Commission for Culture and Tourism Development, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the China Academy of Art, Sichuan University, Shandong University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Chongqing University, the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Capital Normal University, Shanghai University, Shenzhen University, Chongqing Institute of Culture and Tourism Research, Sichuan Provincial Academy of Art, Gansu Provincial Academy of Culture and Art, and Jilin Provincial Academy of Art. The meeting was chaired by Yuan Wenquan, Director of the Social Science Research Department of Chongqing University. Chongqing University's Standing Committee member and Vice President Li Jian, Long Chuan, a member of the Party Group and Vice Chairman of the Chongqing Federation of Social Science Circles, and Wang Hui, Director of the Social Science Division of the Department of Science and Education of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, each delivered speeches expressing high hopes for the research project. On behalf of the research team, Zhang Nanmu comprehensively introduced the project planning and research plan from aspects such as the background and literature review of the topic selection, overall framework and research content, research ideas and methods, as well as the research team and schedule. He stated that the research significance lies in delving into the theoretical rationality of "cultural thoughts of Xi Jinping" in artistic interpretation within the historical context of "Chinese-style modernization," constructing a modern paradigm for Chinese artistic thought and theory, providing a scientific, systematic, and macro academic path for artistic research and practical creation. Under the guidance of cultural thoughts of Xi Jinping, the research team aims to produce significant academic achievements with both theoretical and practical implications. The review experts unanimously agreed that the project has significant academic importance and contemporary value. They praised the thorough preparation, solid argumentation, comprehensive literature review, reasonable framework, high standards, broad scope, depth, grand vision, and open perspective of the opening report. They consented to initiate the 2024 major project of the National Social Science Fund for Art Sciences titled "Research on Art Perspectives in Cultural Thoughts of Xi Jinping" and wished the research team fruitful results.
